I'm technical lead for backbone operations at the University of Michigan; this test is from my desktop at UM, so this is as much a test of your speed test as of my connection. But I'll try this from home sometime too. BTW, UM's service provider is Merit - not on your list...

Connection speed varies, but this expensive "high-speed broadband" sometimes seems slower than the old 56K free Netzero dialup. Even low-res Youtube videos will usually pause every few seconds to cache, and a variety of webpages seem to occasionally hang.
