Don Flournoy (COMING SOON...ALL 1,527 U.S. CARRIERS) says:

The city of Athens (home of Ohio U) probably has the fastest Internet access and the largest number of choices anywhere in SE Ohio. Citizens can (possibly) access Verizon-DSL, TW-cable modem, Intelliwave-BBwireless and Ohio University-ethernet. Since I live more than 3 miles from the central office/headend, neither I nor my neighbors get the telco or cable services. I tried the Intelliwave 240K service and am in viewing distance of the WOUB-TV tower that serves as its host, but at peak user times the service is no better than dial-up. It had so many service interruptions I got off. Now I am on Wildblue-sat and counting my blessings with 200-500K service and only occasional weather interruptions.
