J. Fleming (AT&T) says:

In the Pikeville, KY area there are really only a few viable options. The one I chose was Bellsouth (now AT&T Southeast) DSL, and aside from some hiccups from the merger, this company has always treated me right, whether with dial-up or DSL. I can only give this rating because I feel the service has slipped a few notches under the new management. There are a few other DSL providers, but most will still essentially run through Bellsouth. Southeast Telephone, an in-city company, is a notable DSL 'competitor', as well as regional giant Mikrotec, who incidentally also work with local media monopoly Gearhart to provide their 'Fastback' cable internet service to the more outlying areas. Inside most of the downtown area itself, Suddenlink presumably provides internet access alongside its cable television service.
